Pampering the Bride
Pampering the Bride
Anyone who has ever planned a wedding, knows how stressful it can be. You are attempting to gather everyone in your life you have ever cared about, combine them with everyone in your fiancé’s life that they have ever cared about, and throw a party dedicated to you committing yourself to another person… forever.
It’s stressful. And it’s OK to admit that it’s stressful. Being in love doesn’t mean that every aspect of wedding planning has to be fun. But even amidst all the stress, there are some pretty incredible perks as well – including the excuse to full on pamper yourself.
So in the weeks leading up to your wedding, here are the ways you should be taking care of you:
Even if it has been years since you have done something different with your hair, now is the time to shake things up a bit. Find a stylist you trust, and opt for a bit of color or a trendy cut. Part of the fun of being a bride is feeling beautiful, and nothing accomplishes that goal quite as well as a new and improved look.
When it comes to the big day, make sure you have a trial run with your selected stylist ahead of time. You want to be positive that the two of you are on the same page in regards to your hair for the actual wedding. Spending a few hours a week or two before to find a style you can get excited about will save a ton of stress the day of.
A lot of brides will run off to the spray tan studio or spend the days leading up to their wedding basking in the sun, hoping for a little extra glow. But the reality is, you should say “no” to both! Even the best spray tans tend to not actually match your natural skin tone, even worse when they are orange! Something that will be all that much more noticeable against your white dress and in your high quality photos. Plus, it isn’t at all uncommon for a spray tan to lead to mismatched arms, chests and faces. You don’t want that. And even with the real thing, the possibility of tan lines, re faces, burning and peeling is too great. Don’t risk it.
If you want a healthy glow, hire a makeup artist who can help you to achieve that. This is something you should do for yourself anyway, because if there is one day in a woman’s life when she should have professional makeup done – it is her wedding day. As with your hairstylist, however, schedule a trial run a few weeks ahead of time, just to ensure you both have the same idea of appropriate wedding day makeup.
Your hand is about to be adorned with some new bling, so make sure your nails are up for the challenge of being “oohed” and “awed” at when the wedding day rolls around. Splurge on a manicure and pedicure a day or two before your nuptials, so that the paint won’t have time to chip.
If you are feeling up for a little bit of girl bonding, invite your wedding party and closest female family members along for this excursion as well. Everyone loves getting their nails done before a big wedding!
There is no better motivator to get in shape than an upcoming wedding. In the months prior to your big day, hit the gym, hire a personal trainer and watch what you eat. You don’t have to go crazy or aim to drop an unhealthy amount of weight, but even toning up before your wedding day can be a great confidence booster.

And in the week before you walk down the aisle, treat yourself to a massage. You have been working hard and planning for what will be one of the biggest days of your life. A nice relaxing massage will help you to let go of the pre-wedding tension and embrace the good that is about to come.
